Motorola Bionic? Yes Please! #MotoCalyp #CBias

My poor, pitiful, outdated phone!  It’s NOT Smart!  Time for an upgrade!
Is your phone as outdated as mine?  Do you always go for the “free” upgrade like me?  Do you regret it every time like I do?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might want to pay attention for this!

I’m cheap frugal, so every time I’m eligible for an upgrade, I go with the “free” phones!  They aren’t bad and the one I have has served me well but now I blog for a living.  I need something that can keep up with me.  I need to be able to DO stuff while I’m running around with the babies and my current phone doesn’t allow me to do much of the stuff I need to do!
So when I was approached by my friends at Collective Bias to look into the Droid Bionic by Motorola, I was stoked!  Yes please and thank you!  This thing looks amazing and I was all over it!  My oldest daughter has a Droid (that I pay for) and I am always impressed with its many features, but hers is old and this Bionic is new!  Could it be possible?  Am I seriously looking into getting something better than my kids have?  You bet I am!
I did some online research and found all of the amazing features this thing has, but to be honest, technology confuses me!  I was intrigued that they are now offering free 2 day shipping with purchase.  I’m a fan of free!

But for me, one-on-one communication is the best source of information.  I MUST talk with someone in the know so I headed to the only place I knew to head!  I have been a Verizon Wireless customer since  before they were Verizon Wireless, so I headed to my local store to ask, probe, and annoy the sales staff!

Usually, I don’t like to step out of my comfort zone (my own home and the Internet), but this time I was pleasantly surprised!  There were only 2 people working at my store and both were very knowledgeable and friendly…SCORE!  They walked me through the whole thing!  You can see my entire shopping experience here in my Google+ story in pictures!

They didn’t have a “live” Bionic for me to test but I loved the look and feel of the actual phone.  Shane, my salesman, explained to me how much faster the new Motorola Bionic is than the older Droids (including his own) because they are 4G.  And the 4G technology will be available on my island by the end of the year and that’s pretty soon!

Some of the features that I was particularly fond of might not be as important to others as they are to me, but I’ll share them anyway because I like to share!  I love that the touch screen is heat activated which means I can’t accidentally call someone  or end up on the internet while it’s riding around in my purse (yes I do this often).  I absolutely adore that you can talk into this phone and it types out what you say!  No more need for shopping lists, or for forgotten blog post ideas, or trying to remember anything until I can get to my computer or a piece of paper!

And we are a family on a budget.  I need a lot for this little blogging gig of mine! I needed a new laptop which I finally got (insert happy dance here), and I need an updated SMART phone, and I need a new camera.  But if I do decide to purchase this fabulous Bionic by Motorola it would alleviate the need all together for buying the camera!  This sleek little thing has an 8 mega pixel camera built right in!  That is as good as, if not better than, most of the cameras I’ve had my eye on!

This all-in-one tool will probably be making it’s way into my life in the very near future, but I am not an impulse buyer and still had some things I needed to look into.  I headed back to my comfort zone to do a little more research.
While at the store, Shane and his manager, Jamal, were able to push an upgrade through for me since there was a little error on Verizon’s part due to a change made on my account.  This means I am NOW eligible for an upgrade and found that I can get a lot of really cool phones at a discounted rate.  And the Bionic is one of those choices!
Now I just have to weigh out my choices, do a little more research, and make sure that I am getting the right phone for ME this time!  I’m pretty sold on the Bionic at this point!  I’ll keep you posted!

  1. Looks like a great phone! I’ve been checking out the Motorola Photon!

  2. Hurray for manager, Jamal! I’m betting you were due to an error in your favor, am I right?
Congrats on your upgrade! I’m right behind you for the Bionic, but I don’t think I’ll be quite so lucky!

  3. Yes ma’am! When I changed my phone number about a year ago, they put me under the “new” upgrade option. Every 2 years but since I’m the primary on the account, I should have still been grandfathered in for the every 1 year upgrade. LOVE when customer service reps and their managers step up to the plate and do the right thing! I’m probably going to have to wait until after Christmas but I’ve researched further since this and I am a Droid LOVER!
