Green Juice Detox: Day 6. Captain’s Log: It’s not going well. Tonight I cooked fajitas for my family. Fajitas I can’t eat. OK, so I never eat the chicken part, but the peppers, onions, and mushrooms marinated in my fabulously delicious homemade no sodium sauce are one of my favorite meals. Rolled snuggly in that warm flour tortilla shell, nestled in hot melted cheese goodness. Mmmmm!
But alas, that wasn’t in the cards for me tonight. I’m detoxing. I’m good. This is awesome and the stye, stye baby is diminishing. I feel good. Well other than about 4:30 every afternoon when I feel dizzy and feel like puking. Oh and that vision thing…that one gets me every time. I can barely see. But this is a good thing. Only a few more days. Yippee!
So I’ve been shaky. I tried to cut the veggies. The stupid onion made a ridiculous jump…seriously that thing took on a life of its own…and I went to catch it. Unfortunately, I still had the knife in my other hand. I fail.
It was a nice clean cut. It hurt. But it didn’t bleed for a full minute which makes you know you got a good cut in. YAY ME!
But the fajitas were awesome…so I’m told. I outdid myself…so I’m told. They were grand…SO I’M TOLD!
I’ve been “cheating” here and there on this juicing adventure. I’m skinny. I think the total detox experience is too much for this skinny vegetarian’s health. I’ve been sneaking in spinach salads from time to time. And I’ve decided to add them once a day to my daily “juicing”. I’m tired of going blind, feeling dizzy, shaking…and well, almost slicing my thumb off!
And there you have it! My admission in full. I’ll be juicing 3 times per day and eating a spinach salad once per day for the duration of this adventure. Three more days to go and I’ll be feasting on cheese!
