Often, when I’m off fishing with B (OK, who am I kidding? He fishes and I run around with my camera. We’ve established this.), I find beauty in the island that is not the beach. I know, I’m shocked too!
This house drew me in. I bet I took 40 photos of it. I don’t know why. It’s rustic. It’s classic. The fence is in need of repair. It’s very blue. But it’s very country, as am I. It’s nestled deeply within the confines of the island, much as I am. I guess I can relate to this house.
In some ways, neither of us has ever fit in. But in others ways, we blend beautifully with our backdrop.
I guess I am drawn to this house because, like me, it has been worn by the years, but it still stands strong. It’s appeal is immeasurable. Chipped paint is just a thing. It blends and it looks amazing. Actually, yes, I can relate and it’s no wonder I am drawn to it’s diminishing, yet glorious, beauty.
Beauty is only a perception and I think this old, sturdy house looks amazing!
