They’re Bonding…It’s About Time!

The 2 most important men in my life. They’re gorgeous. But they just don’t really connect. They don’t always get along. They love each other but spending time alone together has just never been a priority to either of them.

It’s been 4.5 years since Bubby was born and these 2 have not been able to connect. I’d like to say I don’t know why, but I get it. They’re exactly alike, they have high tempers, and they’re both extremely sensitive.

I love them.

But they didn’t connect…until now!

Something finally clicked. Somehow they both got it. I’ll be honest, Bubby got it before B did and he put forth his best effort. Gotta love that kid. B always tells him to “man up”. But he doesn’t need to. He’s 4.

HE’S NOT A MAN. HE DOESN’T NEED TO MAN UP!

But this past weekend they made a connection. B decided to take Bubby to a motorcycle event. Without me. Without Bug. How would they do? Could they make it without us? They did beautifully and I couldn’t be happier!
My beautiful, high tempered, sensitive son, bonded with his beautiful high tempered, sensitive Daddy this weekend at this event and things have been awesome between them ever since.

Bubby is making all of the “first”  moves. He’s manning up. He knows that it’s important for a daddy and son to bond and his daddy is following right along.

I love this.

I’ve been watching and smiling for the past few days. I always knew this day would come. I always dreaded this day. My “baby” is growing up and wants to be his Daddy’s boy. I’m OK with it because they’re one and the same. I’m sad about it because he’s my baby. He doesn’t have to man up, but I’m glad he’s enjoying time with his Daddy…just being boys. It’s high time it happened. I’m not willing to let go just yet, but I’m willing to bend a bit.

Mommies can let go (just a bit) and life can be amazing watching the people you love just love each other!

They’re bonding. It’s a good thing!
