I should totally tell you up front that I received a copy of this DVD for review purposes from Click Communications on behalf of Shout! Factory Kids. As always all opinions and ideas are entirely my own.
My Bubby loves movies, TV, trucks, and cars. And he’s pretty much the ruler of the TV in this house. Seriously, he OWNS that thing. I try to limit his TV and movie watching but when he does watch (which is more than I care to admit here), I like to control the content he sees, and the message of that content. I want him to LEARN something, even when he doesn’t know he’s learning, and I want him to take life skills away after watching.
When I read about Shout! Factory Kids‘ collaboration with Hasbro Studios, LLC, The Adventures of Chuck & Friends, I felt it was a perfect fit for both of our needs. There are cars and trucks, and there is a message behind this fun cartoon series that airs on The Hub TV Network here in the U.S. and on Treehouse in Canada.
Chuck and his BFFs, Digger, Handy, Rowdy, Biggs, Boomer, and Flip, have a great time in high gear in this series. Chuck is a little dump truck with big dreams. No matter what obstacles are in Chuck’s way, he knows that with good friends and imagination, he’ll cross the finish line a winner. This DVD made Bubby laugh as he enjoyed their fun adventures (which pleased him) and taught him lessons in friendship, imagination, and cooperation (which pleased me).
The Adventures of Chuck & Friends: Bumpers Up! became available in stores at the low price of $12.99 on August 13th so your little one can own and enjoy it today! The DVD houses 10 entertaining episodes that include:
The Art of Being Chuck
Commercial Trucks (Bubby’s favorite)
Lights, Cameras, Trucks!
Truck and Roll
Rowdy the Rock Star
Flower Power (Bug’s favorite)
And although this DVD is geared a little more toward boys than girls, it seems Bug likes it too. Hey, girls like dump trucks and cars, at least they do in my house!
If you have little boys (or girls) in your house and you feel like their time in front of the television should be enjoyable, but a learning experience, I think you should run out and grab your copy of this DVD.
PS – You’ll giggle too if you sit and watch it with them.
It really is cute and clever. And at $12.99, it’s priced right, and it includes a bonus sing-along. My babies love a good sing-and-dance-along.
Right now the babies could use another dose of cooperation skills so if you’ll excuse me, I have to go put this DVD in again and hit play. Have you seen The Adventures of Chuck & Friends? Do your kids love these crazy characters as much as mine do? I’d love to hear what you think. If not, go out and buy a copy of this DVD today. They’ll love the animation and you’ll dig the message!
