Funniest.movie.EVER! If you follow along on any of my social media channels (especially Facebook) or know me personally, you know that I am addicted to the movie Elf. I mean, I don’t just laugh like most of you do, I have tears rolling down my face for the majority of the movie and I watch it a minimum of 100 times during the month of December every year. It just never gets old. I own it so I can watch it on the nights and/or days it isn’t on TV. I’m a junkie!
I quote this movie often, on FB and in real life conversation, year round actually. And come the holiday season, people tag me in their own posts on FB and share photos (like the one above) on my FB page. I even named my new Yorkie pup Buddy in honor of this work of literary excellence. I like that people around the country actually think of me often when they watch this movie. That makes me giggle too. And I feel all warm and elfy inside.
So without further ado, I’d like to share my top 10 favorite quotes from this literary masterpiece. Seriously, this is good screenplay people! I have way more than 10 but I wanted to encourage y’all to play along at the end.
#10: “This place reminds me of Santa’s Workshop! Except it smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me.” (I feel like this quite often at Walmart actually.)
#9: “No tomatoes. Too vulnerable. Kids, they’re already vulnerable.” (True that!)
#8: “You sit on a throne of lies!” (So many people should be told this on a daily basis.)
#7: “I just like to smile, smiling is my favorite.”
#6: “Watch out, the yellow ones don’t stop!”
#5: “First we’ll make snow angels for two hours, then we’ll go ice skating, then we’ll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookiedough as fast as we can, and then we’ll snuggle.“
#4: “I’m a cotton-headed ninny-muggins.“
#3: “Does somebody need a hug?“

That last one is of course the perfect segway in to my all-time favorite quote from the movie. This is the one that I use most throughout the year. Drum roll please. My #1 favorite quote from this literary giant is…..
#1 “He’s an angry elf! He must be from the South Pole!”
