Galveston Club Paradise: The Seawall Is Busy Again

It’s only January, but the Seawall is getting busy again. Mardi Gras is just around the corner and the tourists are piling in.

I say bring it. The island could use the revenue. I’ll overlook the rudeness as I walk my beloved Seawall. I’ll happily wait in the lines at Walmart as I giggle at the tourist talk. And if it all gets to be too much, I know I have a safe place, in the confines of my own home. I choose to live in a tourist town and times like Mardi Gras can be overwhelming. But I can overlook that because I rejoice in the parades.
I’m just happy to see my island flourishing again. I think the rebuild is finally taking shape and I’m happy to watch the growth. Bring on the parades, bring the tourists in, and above all else…be sure to enjoy the scenery. It’s a beautiful place to be!

  1. What is tourist talk? Are you going to think everyone is talking like tourist when we are at SFC? 😉

  2. clgossett says:

Tourist talk = If I’m heading west on the Seawall from 61st Street and want to get to Walmart, do I take a left or a right? Well, ummm…if you take a left heading west anywhere on the Seawall, you’ll sleep with Davey Crockett. I’m pretty sure AR is landlocked so we’re good. 😉
